Meet our Head of School
Esperanza Hernandez is our Head of School and Preschool Director. Previously, Esperanza served as a Principal at Stratford School for seven years. Her prior roles included: Head of Admissions, Vice Principal, Teacher Trainer, and Administrator. Additionally, Esperanza taught Preschool for six years, and was recognized as "Teacher of the Year" by San Jose Magazine in 2004. Esperanza studied Early Childhood Education at West Valley College. Esperanza, along with her five siblings, was raised in the Bay Area. She currently lives in San Jose with her husband of thirty-two years, Paul, and is a mother to two independent, adult children.

Meet our Founder
Joe Wagner is the founder of Harper School. Joe previously co-founded Stratford School, a high performing private preschool and elementary school in Silicon Valley. Joe has degrees from Georgetown University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Joe was born in Germany, grew up in St. Louis, MO, and lived for about ten years in the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently lives in St. Louis with his wife, Molly, and their seven children.
